Being a recent convert to Twitter – please follow me @Frugalista76 – I have found it to be an excellent – perhaps now the best – way to keep abreast of Lakes and Mountains related developments from resorts, tour operators and Twitterati with an Alpine bent. Whilst I have undoubtedly only scratched the surface of what is out there on Twitter regarding Lakes and Mountains, I nevertheless think the above list gives the casual traveller or dedicated enthusiast an excellent overview of some of the most well-known resorts, airlines servicing Alpine countries and specialist tour-operators. Twitter is undoubtedly an excellent medium for showcasing what the aforementioned offer, enabling a ‘follower’ to be the first to hear the latest developments, snow conditions, lift operating schedules and new airline routes, to name but a few. As I get to further grips with Twitter expect to read updates of what is out there for the alpinists and hikers amongst us. Happy twittering.
